🌼 About Me 🌼

I am a surfacing artist with over 12 years of experience in the animation industry and about 3 years in the gaming industry. My focus is on painting textures and creating materials/shaders for 3D surfaces and models in a production pipeline with the ability to understand, interpret and implement stylized art direction. I have a particular love for cute art and enjoy creating my own art/doodles. In my free time, I enjoy playing games, and lately, my favorite has been Animal Crossing New Horizons!

🌼 Work experience🌼

Surfacing Lead Artist

ReelFX, Dallas, Texas – (Jan 2017 - Present)*

As a lead, my responsibilities include surfacing characters, props, and environments based on stylized art direction. I was also responsible for creating hand-painted and photo-sourced textures, as well as shaders and materials to match the desired look in an animation production pipeline.

In addition to these tasks, I helped my department supervisor with lead responsibilities such as requesting model updates or changes, assisting colleagues with questions, troubleshooting pipeline issues, testing new development tools and workflows, and collaborating with my supervisor and colleagues to determine the best approach for achieving the final look of assets.

🌼Skills🌼

Maya ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Since learning 3D, Maya has become my go-to program. I have used it for rendering and creating shaders using Arnold.

Mari ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mari is my program of choice when painting and creating textures within a 3D space. Ive been using Mari for a few years now and still reach for it even with other options available

Substance Painter ⭐️⭐️

I have been using Substance Painter on and off for the past two years. It is a powerful tool, and I have learned the basics. However, I am still learning and would love to expand my knowledge of it.

Photoshop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My preferred program for creating 2D tiling textures for use in 3D application. Somethings are just easily done in Photoshop!

Blender ⭐️

I've started learning it recently and found it challenging (in a good way!) I'm not proficient yet but I've been exploring it on my own
